Products Guide
Updated over a month ago

Optimizing your product titles with relevant keywords and precise descriptions improves the likelihood of your products appearing in search results, attracting more potential customers. Through the optimization of your product titles, you can enhance your shopping ad performance and generate a greater volume of qualified traffic to your online store, which can result in more conversions and revenue.

The Products tool is a data-driven solution that aims to enrich and optimize your products, enabling you to achieve greater relevance.

Select the right view

Before optimizing your titles it is important to select the right view. To do that you have to choose the right country and language combination:

  1. Click the upper taskbar on the top of the page.

  2. Choose the country and language combination you want to optimize

Navigate to Products

Once you have selected the right country/language combination you can navigate to the Products tool by clicking on the cube in the left sidebar.

Note: This is available for all advertisers using Producthero as their Google CSS partner.

You will now see an overview of all your product titles and their performance (over the last 7, 14, 30, or 60 days).

Click here to see an explanation of each column

  • Product title: The name that you assign to a product through the 'title' attribute in your Merchant Centre product data. The title will be shown in your ads.

  • ID: Item ID is the unique identifier you assign to a product through the 'ID' attribute in your Merchant Center product data. You can use the ID to find any product in your campaign.

  • Clicks: When someone clicks your ad, it's counted here (the last 90 days).

  • Cost: Cost is the total of your spending during these 90 days.

  • Conv. value: Conversion value ('Conv. value') is the sum of conversion values for your conversions. This is only useful if you entered a value for conversion actions.

  • Price benchmark: If you’re using the Price Benchmark tool you’ll be able to see which products are above, at, or below the price of your competitors.

  • Title status: the status of your title referring to its length in characters.

    • Great title: between 70 and 150 characters.

    • Average title: between 30 and 70 characters.

    • Poor title: below 30 characters.

  • Label: The label that is determined based on the strategy you’ve set in the Advertising tool.

  • In feed: Toggle bar that indicates whether the optimized title is present in the supplemental source. This visibility feature is exclusively available to users who have integrated their Producthero supplemental source with the Merchant Center.

Having relevant keywords in your title increases the chances of your products appearing in search results, improving their visibility and reach.

Editing your product titles

If you want to optimize your product titles, you can click everywhere in the row to optimize the title.

A new window will open.

  1. Title: This is how your product title is currently displayed to consumers.

  2. ID: The unique identifier you assign to a product through the 'ID' attribute in your Merchant Center product data.

  3. GTIN: A unique and internationally recognized identifier for a product. When a GTIN is available, it will appear next to the barcode on your product's packaging.

  4. Label: The label of your Product based on your strategy (advertising).

  5. Placement: This is how your product will be displayed on the Shopping network.

  6. Last edited: The date of the last time you edited your product title.

  7. Title status: The status of your title refers to its length in characters.

    1. Great title: between 70 and 150 characters.

    2. Average title: between 30 and 70 characters.

    3. Poor title: below 30 characters.

  8. In supplemental source: Once your title has been optimized, it will overwrite the title from the primary feed and automatically appears in your advertisements.

  9. Title/Short title:

    1. Title: the name that you assign to a product through the 'title' attribute in your Merchant Centre product data. The title can be shown to people who see your ads.

    2. Short title: You can use the short title to briefly identify the product. This field will be used in some places (f.e. Discovery campaigns). You can use up to 150 characters, but it's recommended to keep this to 65.

  10. Keyword suggestions: You can use the following suggestions to enhance your title. Some of these recommendations are generated by AI, using the initial 400 characters of your product description as a basis. Additionally, we provide suggestions based on the attributes present in your product feeds, which do not have AI-generated counterparts.

Once a title is optimized you can save it. It will now be added to the supplemental source. This will only change your title for your ads, not on your landing page.
